Nepal parties urged to decide on Constitution

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs, Bamdev Gautam, has said that the new constitution would be promulgated on coming January 22 at any cost. Stating that the new constitution would be promulgated through consensus as soon as possible, Deputy Prime Minister Gautam said it would be done even going for voting process if consensus was not forged on the disputed issues.Speaking in the meeting of the Business Advisory Committee of the CA today, CA chair Subas Chandra Nembang urged the leaders to forge consensus for shortening the CA rules of procedures for timely constitution. Similarly, in the meeting Prime Minister Sushil Koirala and CPN (UML) chairman KP Sharma Oli opined for going for the voting process if consensus bid fails but opposition party leaders Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar opposed the proposal. On the occasion, CA chair Nembang, proposed to shorten the CA Rules of Procedures 2070, related to send the draft of a new constitution to the people. CA chair Nemabang said that he was ready to take any bitter criticism made against him if the constitution was issued on the slated time.
