Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled visit to Janakpur has been cancelled. The Indian Embassy informed about the cancellation of Modi’s visit to Janakpur by informing a Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs who looks after India affairs.
A source at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also informed that the Indian PM’s visit to Lumbini and Muktinath have also been cancelled. Indian PM Modi was scheduled to visit the places during his visit to Nepal in connection with the 18th Saarc Summit due to be held in Kathmandu later this month.
Indian PM Modi was scheduled to receive civic reception in Janakpur. However, the major political parties were at odds regarding the possible place for Modi’s reception.
