Posted by Rajan KC June 16, 2014 An Indian business man has bought one of the world's most expensive shirts, made with more than 3kg of gold and worth USD 250,000. ‘Goldman’ Datta Phuge’s name has been entered in the Guinness Book of World Records for purchasing the world’s most expensive shirt.

He made headlines last year by buying a gold shirt weighing 3.5 kg and paying Rs1.27 crore for it. Datta, a 32-year-old moneylender, recently hired a team of 15 goldsmiths to make the shiny shirt and they needed to work two weeks worth of 16-hour day shifts to get the gold threads just right. He also runs a co-operative credit society and financial institutions. After setting the world record, Goldman Phuge wants to contest the Shirur parliamentary seat.
