The Nepal Police replaced its camouflage uniform with dark blue traditional uniform on Friday. A mixture of dark blue and light purple, the traditional uniform consists of a full-sleeved shirt with large pockets on both sides of the chest, a sports cap and baggy pants usually tucked inside police boots. According to Deputy Inspector General of Police Madhav Joshi, spokesman for Nepal Police, it became necessary to change the uniform to avoid similarity with that of the Armed Police Force bearing similar patterns and colours. Officials said the combat fatigue “does not make any sense now”.
