The situation of Sujuwa VDC in the south-eastern part of Morang district turned violent as locals clashed with the security personnel after a man allegedly died in the police custody on Saturday.Locals claimed that Madhu Tajpuriya, 60, a tea seller, who was arrested on the charge of being drunk and noisy in public on Friday night, died in the custody.A team of human rights activists on October 26 have monitored the incident of death of Madhu Tajpuriya, 57, of Sijuwa VDC-3 in police custody. A joint team of National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) Biratnagar and INSEC Biratnagar collected details about the incident from police, witnesses, family of deceased and locals.Police shot tear gas and fired rubber bullets in the air to disperse the crowd and keep the situation under control, locals informed.
