Ganga Maya Adhikari, who was on a hunger strike for 360 days demanding action against the murderers of her son Krishna Prasad, ended hunger strike this evening after a five-point deal with the government. She had been staging indefinite hunger strike since October 25, 2013 demanding investigation into the murder of her son Krishna Prasad Adhikari during Maoist insurgency. Law Minister Narahari Acharya broke Adhikari´s hunger strike by offering her Jeevanjal, Horlicks and glucose at Bir Hospital. Nanda Prasad Adhikari, who had been staging fast-unto-death with his wife Ganga Maya at Bir Hospital in the Capital for the past 11 months, had passed away last month. Similarly, the government would take security responsibility of Gangamaya and her son Nur Prasad, and would provide relief and would manage settlement and livelihood of the victim´s family.
