The residents of Jure along the Arniko Highway had no warning. Most of them were asleep when the whole side of a mountain fell on their homes. Also, The Sunkoshi flood has cut off Araniko Highway, the lifeline of Nepal-China trade. With about 1.5 km of the Jure segment of the highway badly damaged by landslide.
