Pesticide use in Nepal: Health effects and economic costs for farmers in the central mid-hills.

Power News:Use of pesticides in different farm products including food grains and vegetables has suddenly jumped up in the country in the past few years. As much as 14 percent of vegetable items being supplied in Nepal's capital Kathmandu have been detected with pesticide residue which is harmful for consumption,according to the newspapers. However the recent servery showthat the use of pesticides is very less.Is it foe sure the main objective of using pesticides is to kill insects and pests that destroy crops, consumers have been hit hard due to lack of necessary instructions to farmers regarding proper method of its use.
