Government is preparing to extend Pubudu's term

Nepal cricket team skipper Paras Khadka threatened to quit the sport if the Cricket Association of Nepal did not recall coach Pubudu Dassanayake.Youth and Sports Minister Purusottam Paudel said that the government is preparing to take a decision to extend Pubudu's contract after Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) failed to do so due to lack of fund. Minister Paudel said that the government will take decision after completing some legal process.

Nepal cricket team skipper Paras Khadka threatened to quit the sport if the Cricket Association of Nepal did not recall coach Pubudu Dassanayake. “Good evening family, friends, fans and everyone..if we want to take Nepali cricket further, we need (coach) Pubudu Dassanayake at any cost and if that does not happen then I will also not be able to continue playing for Nepal,” Khadka wrote on his Facebook page. “Would like to thank everyone for the constant support during all the ups and downs..Jai Nepal,” The above statement was published on his official Facebook page today. Earlier, CAN had cited reasons of having no funds to allocate for Dassanayake’s expenses. The current tenure was an extension of his 2 years contract as Head Coach, which had ended on March 30th.
