In Nepal's nine-year civil war, at least 38 people were killed and a further 72 injured when a crowded bus was torn apart by a suspected Maoist bomb yesterday. The attack occurred at 8am in a remote area of Chitwan district, about 120 miles south of Kathmandu, as villagers travelled to market in Bharatpur. There were more than 100 passengers, including many sitting on the roof of the bus, when the bomb exploded. However, Dahal also announced a relief package of Rs 6 million and told the participants that they can use the money for the good cause on their own few years back. He also urged the people to forget any kind of horrendous incidents that occurred during the decade-long conflict and devote themselves for building a prosperous Nepal.
