Floods and landslides in Nepal have killed more then 150 people and scores more are missing so far. 150 dead as floods wash away homes in Nepal, Nepal has been worst hit, with 105 people confirmed dead after torrential rain triggered landslides and flooding, devastating entire villages in what the country's prime minister termed a "national tragedy". Last year, more than 6,000 people were killed as floods and landslides swept through Uttarakhand during the monsoon season. Heavy deforestation over the last few decades has made the area more vulnerable to landslides. People in the worst-affected villages were being evacuated to relief camps set up in government and school buildings.
