Mahesh Lama, 26, of Kavre was arrested by metropolitan police last week. He was arrested on charge of cheating people with fake assurances of jobs in the Nepali Army. Lama, in collaboration with a woman Bhagirathi Paudel, 51, of Bardiya, had duped Munna Ghale of Nuwakot, of Rs 6 lakh by promising him a lieutenant’s position in the national army.

Acting on the complaint of the victim, Metropolitan Police Crime Division had launched a manhunt to nap the culprit. Police also confiscated the fake stamp of Chaubas VDC office of Kavrepalanchowk district. Further investigation is on, police said. He had been residing at Kapurdhara, Kathmandu.
