The Election Commission (EC) has directed the Ministry of Home Affairs on monday to let SSP Ramesh Kharel continue his works as the top police officer of Kathmandu.
The Election Commission has counseled the Ministry of Home Affairs to allow SSP Ramesh Kharel to continue his work as the chief of Metropolitan Police Range. Last week the investigating committee of the Nepal Police on Saturday called SSP Ramesh Kharel at the Police Headquarters for investigation. The Election Commission on Friday rejected the government's request for approval to transfer SSP Ramesh Kharel from Metropolitan Police Range.The Nepal Police headquarters had formed a probe panel to investigate Kathmandu Police Chief and SSP Ramesh Kharel regarding controversial statements that some incumbent DIGs are trying to bribe the government ministers and other senior politicians for their promotions.
