The investigating committee of the Nepal Police on Saturday called SSP Ramesh Kharel at the Police Headquarters for investigation. The Election Commission on Friday rejected the government's request for approval to transfer SSP Ramesh Kharel from Metropolitan Police Range.The Nepal Police headquarters had formed a probe panel to investigate Kathmandu Police Chief and SSP Ramesh Kharel regarding controversial statements that some incumbent DIGs are trying to bribe the government ministers and other senior politicians for their promotions.
It all stared after SSP Kharel speech in Mahendra Police Club Kharel. Speaking at a function at Mahendra Police Club Kharel said, "Some DIGs are being promoted soon," he had stated, "Some DIGs are frequenting the houses of government ministers with briefcases full of money."The Nepal Police headquarters has formed a probe panel to investigate Kathmandu Police Chief and SSP Ramesh Kharel regarding controversial statements that some incumbent DIGs are trying to bribe the government ministers and other senior politicians for their promotions.
