Democracy Day, also called Loktantra Diwas, was celebrated in Nepal yesterday by various programmes across the country.
: Democracy Day, also called Loktantra Diwas, is being celebrated in Nepal today by various programmes across the country. The day is celebrated to commemorate democratic movement (called the People's Movement of 2006) led by the people of the country against despotism that turned the country into a federal republican state.Vice-President Parmanand Jha extended best wishes to all Nepali brothers and sisters living in the country and abroad on the occasion of the Loktantra Day today.
