Nepal falls in Corruption Perceptions Index by 10 ranks

Nepal has slipped ten places from last year in the Corruption Perception Index ( CPI ) of the Transparency International (TI). Nepal rank 126th out of 175 countries in the Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI)-2014, a global report unveiled by the Transparency. According to a press statement issued by TI Nepal , Nepal has been ranked as the third most corrupt country in South Asia after Bangladesh and Afghanistan.Nepal scored 29 points out of 100 in a scale in which a score of zero means highly corrupt and 100 corruption free. Thapa pointed out that Nepal has failed to control corruption since it was listed in the CPI 11 years ago. According to the statement issued by TI Nepal Chapter, the Nepal report is based on the separate surveys conducted by five international organizations, namely Bertelsmann Foundation, World Bank, World Economic Forum, Global Justice Project and Global Insight.
