Meanwhile, on Friday morning, secretary for Ministry of Home Affairs Surya Silwal, at a press meet in Janakpur, also said that the Ministry had not received any information on the cancellation of Modi’s Janakpur trip. Silwal further said that he was at Janakpur to oversee preparation for India Prime Minister Modi’s felicitation function. Recently, the UCPN (Maoist) and the Madheshi parties had staged protest at Janakpur demanding that Barhabigah, not Janaki Temple, must be authorised as the venue for Modi’s public-address.
