Former King Gyanendra Shah will not be offering Tika to the commoners on the occasion of Dashain festival, unlike the ritual in the past when monarch had been offering commoners tika in the auspicious day of Tika. Former King Gyanendra Shah has requested everyone to move ahead with social harmony and political coordination. He has also indirectly expressed dissatisfaction with today's politics.
"We have to seek the right destination for us through social harmony and political coordination by taking note of the changed context and without sidelining anyone," Shah says in his Dashain greetings to Nepalese on the eve of the main day of the festival.
He will, however, visit the holy shrines on the eight day of the festival known as Maha Asthami, it has been learnt
