Nepali Cricket Fans welcomed the returning of Head Coach Pubudu Dassanayake at Tribhuvan Airport. Dassanayake was offered the contract after the Cabinet last week endorsed youth and sports ministry’s proposal to extend his stay with the national cricket team. The ministry intervened after Cricket Association of Nepal decided to release the coach citing financial crunch on June 30. Dassanayake was appointed for one year in September 2011 for $5,000 per month, made immediate impact and brought glory to Nepali cricket, with the team winning three titles apart from the maiden World Twenty20 qualification. CAN then raised his salary to $8,000 in March, but failed to hand over the contract in the absence of board meeting.
