Nepal Gears Up Security Cover for PM Narendra Modi Visit

Air surveillance will be stepped up, a special command centre has been set up and Indian commandos fly down to Kathmandu as Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will begin his Nepal visit on Sunday. The Nepal government has mobilised personnel of all its four security agencies for Mr Modi's visit. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to perform bishesh puja at the Pashupatinath Temple during his two-day Nepal visit. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the Nepalese Parliament and offer prayers at the famed fifth-century Pashupatinath Hindu temple during his first visit to the country from August 3. "Prime Minister Modi will visit Nepal on August 3 and 4, the first visit to be paid by any Indian Prime Minister after 1997," Foreign Minister Mahendra Pandey said. The bishesh puja is a special ritual performed by the chief priest and four assistant priests at Pashupatinath Temple for a special fee to the Pashupati Area Development Trust (PADT). With only a week left for Modi´s official Nepal visit, PADT has geared up preparations Indian PM´s visit to the Pashupatinath Temple from Sunday. Modi is scheduled to arrive in Nepal on August 3. Meanwhile, Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj visited the Pashupati Nath Temple before she returned home after concluding her three-day Nepal visit on Sunday.
