CPN-UML KP Sharma Oli has been elected as the new chairman of the party from its ninth General Convention. CPN-UML senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal congratulated his election rival KP Sharma Oli for his victory as UML Chairman.Oli secured his win over rival leader Madhav Kumar Nepal after maintaining the lead of 39 votes. As per the latest vote count , Oli garnered 1,002 while Nepal trailed behind with 963 votes.Also, leaders Bamdev Gautam and Bidya Devi Bhandari of the Oli panel have been elected as the vice chairpersons, and Ishwar Pokharel as the general secretary.
