Irrigation engineers caught taking bribe.

The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) arrested four people including engineers and an account officer on charge of corruption.

Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) on Monday raided the Central Irrigation Development Division Office of Chitwan district, and caught four officers, including three engineers. Officer were caught red-handed for taking bribes from representatives of a construction company.The CIAA team took them under control acting on a tip-off. The arrested men had reportedly asked money as bribe with the construction entrepreneurs at Central Irrigation Development Division Office, Bharatpur. The anti-graft body said in a statement tody that engineers Ram Bhadra Pandit, Madhu Adhikari and Chakrapani Lamichhane, and accounts officer Rishi Bhakta Timilsina were arrested red-handed from Bharatpur while taking Rs 4,98,000 in cash.The arrested officers have been taken to Kathmandu for further investigation.
