An average of 66 percent of votes were cast in the Constituent Assembly by-elections held in four constituencies--Kathmandu-2, Chitwan-4, Bardiya-1 and Kailali-6, on Sunday, the Election Commission said.
The EC said that by-elections were held peacefully in 324 polling stations from 7 am to 5pm on Sunday. Election Commissioner Ila Sharma informed that election results will be announced on Monday morning.
As per the EC´s preliminary estimation, Bardiya Constituency no -1 recorded the highest voter turnout among the four constituencies with 75 percent of voters casting their ballots there.
The average polling percentage in Chitwan constituency-4 was 73 percent. Similarly, Kathmandu-2 and Kailali-6 witnessed equal average turnout of 60 percent.
