Earlier, police had refused to register a case filed by Dhakal’s relatives against Koirala saying that no significant evidence had been found against him. Koirala claimed that they had been living separately for over ten years.A joint team of Kathmandu Police Range and Metropolitan Police Crime Division arrested him from from Nagdhunga on suspicion of his involvement in the murder last here. On February 17 court orders, the signatures were sent to the National Academy of Science and Technology, Khumaltar, for forensic examination. DIG Ranjan Koirala also confessed to killing his wife during a police interrogation at i=the stage of initial investigation.
